War For Oil

Looks like that nefarious plan, conjured up by the Bushitler and with the help of evil Americakkkan corporations (Bushco. for short), to invade Iraq and steal their oil has backfired, drastically. Iraq Claims Full Control of Oil Sector.
BAGHDAD, Iraq - Iraqi officials declared Tuesday that the interim government has assumed full control of the country's oil industry ahead of the June 30 handover of sovereignty from the U.S.-led occupation administration.

"Today the most important natural resource has been returned to Iraqis to serve all Iraqis," Prime Minister Iyad Allawi said. "I'm pleased to announce that full sovereignty and full control on oil industry has been handed over to the oil ministry today and to the new Iraqi government as of today."

The announcement came as Allawi and Oil Minister Thamir Ghadbhan toured the al-Doura oil refinery in southern Baghdad.

After meeting and shaking hands with the refinery workers, the two ministers thanked oil sector workers.

"We are totally now in control, there are no more advisers," Ghadbhan said. "We are running the show, the oil policies will be implemented 100 percent by Iraqis."
So what say you now lefties, hmm. What was the Iraq war for if we're not controlling their oil industry? Empire? Fun? Or are you all still so blinded by ignorance and hate that you can see a just war when it smacks you in the face?

I guess the line for the sink is getting very long by now. And very, very silent.

So why are you talking about oil? Trust me, all the Pioneers in the oil biz think they are going to make more money now. They may be wrong, but that doesn't change the issue.

It was a great day for the people of Iraq. They once again have the means to improve their lot in life. I agree that it has taken away one more stick that the malcontents have used to bash this country. They and the press have made it harder on the people of Iraq by their consent protest on the war. They have helped the insurgents at every turn by encouraging them to carry on and adding to the insurgent’s propaganda and making it easier for them to acquire more numbers. They mirror the tactics used by the Nazi unit known as the werewolves. Only back then the press agreed not to sensationalize and plaster werewolf’s attacks in order to prevent them from gaining more support from a fearful people. To bad that the press dose not have that same consideration for the innocent people in Iraq as they had for the people in Germany.

More Iraqis are being killed today by the bombs then are coalition troops. Keep on supporting them keep on giving them more and more confidence to kill more of the people including the children of Iraq by your protests. Keep on hindering the peace process and the rebuilding of their public utilities I'm sure that the people mourning their dead from the insurgents bombs and the ones without water or electricity due to the insurgents killing the contractors that are their to fix and build the utilities again will have very high praises for you. Now that they have their oil industry back you’ll have to find another reason to use to help the insurgents in their cause, to restore Saddam or another leader like him to power. Remember that the core of the insurgents are made up of former Republican Guard hardliners and Batth party members who called on the jihad warriors and terrorist to help them regain control of Iraq, or have you forgotten that?

Why is it so bad to say we should drill for oil? Screw the democrat commies.
Research shows that when gasoline prices reach $10 a gallon, highway transportation will cease to exist in the United States. When it reaches $13 a gallon, the economy will simply collapse. At an average of $2.10 a gallon, we may seem a far way off, but tell me: would you rather be 10% closer to death, or 1%? Let's drill in Iraq, drill in Alaska, and invade Saudi Arabia so we can put those greedy towel heads (no offense intended to any present middle-eastern republicans.) in their place in the world!
And while we're at it, let's invade France, just to have a good laugh. Ha ha, just line up a few Abrams tanks, and shout, "Surrender." "Oui oui, ok, sure, whatever. Sounds good."

I recently read in the bible that the problems between the Jews and Muslims stem from Abraham and Sarah's lack of faith.

As a Christian I was taught non-violence from Jesus.

Seeing that America is in large majority a Christian Nation, wouldnt that leave us out (neutral) of the Middle East and its religous problems...?Unless of course we were spreading Christianity. (Non-violent, like Jesus would of done).

That's my religious concern.

Im also concerned after reading some of the statements on this site. That some of you believe that this war is just.

No war is just -but because you think it is...war will continue to exist.

There have been monumental changes in societies due to non-violent conflict resolution. (Ghandi) And we should consider them before we go around killing people, whom ever they may be.

Its as simple as making the decision, as a Nation, not to kill, especially in revenge...No one wants to be killed right? How bout "Do on to others"...?
Simple.

Especially in America. We are so powerful. We should lead by example. and how can we condemn anyone for murder if we stand for it ourselves.

The human race should make killing: any killings all around the world illegal.

Every nation standing against up those who cause death with long term isolation as punishment and then... illiminate the hypocrisy of capital punishment.

I saw the beheading video. From live to dead. I felt so bad for the kid's father. I imagined all of his emotions. I put myself in his shoes. (as much as I could) (I remember I felt the same way after 911) but I wasnt angry. and I didnt want revenge.

I was sickened and I began to wonder how any human being could do such a thing to another. And thats when it hit me...

Cold Hearted Brutal Murder is the same process all over the world, and in so many forms especially war. From live to dead. Since time began we still havent learned sh*#. We are still barbarians only with sophistocated toys-made for killing.

And I must say that I commemerate the kids father for wanting peace. He wants his son's death to lead to something positive in the end...not to just revenge.

this doesnt make him or me un- American, (despite my anscestry of slaves here) I believe in democracy - "by the people for the people".

It makes us lucky, maybe even "special" that our hearts dont fill with hatred and still have the ability to carry compassion.

Compassion for everyone involved.

War is not highschool football with the daily news our nightly pep rally War is real suffering. Hate. Revenge. Lust. Greed. and DEATH.

War is not Just. and we should come together as a world to iliminate it.

God Bless the father of Nick Berg
God Bless America
God Bless the World!

PE,

What you say is very correct but it is a Pollyanna view of the world and the times. I agree with Tony Blair when he said that “In dealing with these people there can be no meeting of the minds, no common ground.” These are people devoid of decency and are committed to the annihilation and or subjugation of all who oppose them and their belief of Islam. To stand by and do nothing as you suggest would be the utmost of folly. When Gandhi took on the British he took on a civilized society. He forced the people of that nation to look at their own actions and to weigh them against their own laws and conscious and see if it was lacking. I stand aghast that you would ever take a great leader of people like Gandhi and say to us we should reach out to the terrorist and try to reason with them as Gandhi did with the British.

The terrorist live outside the law they care nothing for any country or religion outside of what they see is their own. If they kill other Muslims in their crusade and say they are either martyr for Islam or weak Muslims who have compromised the precepts of Islam and deserve to die as an example to other true Muslims. They can justify any killing they do with this attitude; it absolves them of all immoral conduct while achieving their ends. They can not be reasoned with or dissuaded from killing all who will stand in the way of their cause. Their was a tape of Osama Bin Laden and some of the men under him watching the planes crashing into the World Trade Center and he commented that “They never felt the hand upon their throat until it was to late.” They smiled and laughed as it was said. Finding these animals that live outside of what you and I call civilized society and bring them to justice should be the concern of all nations who consider themselves members of civilized society. You are not dealing with people seeking equality you are dealing with people who are looking to dominate and subjugate all who do not agree with them and to those that can not they will and have killed.

PE,

It was brought to my attention by a co-worker that my post could be misunderstood. I would like to clear it up now. I in no way was commenting on the words of Jesus nor would I try rather I was commenting on the policy:
“The human race should make killing: any killings all around the world illegal. With every nation standing against up those who cause death with long term isolation as punishment and then eliminate the hypocrisy of capital punishment.”

I do agree that it would be a good idea but totally impossible to implement in these times. Remember that the League of Nations seemed like a good idea also and failed. Then after WW 2 They brought it back as the U.N. and it is still an ineffectual institution.

Best regards to you PE,

Danny

If this war were "about oil", as liberals love to claim, then why didn't we simply seize the oil fields and refineries? It's not like we were facing any military opposition to speak of. Clearly this war is NOT about oil per se. It's an economic war as much as it is anything else. Our economy, for better or worse, is driven by oil. Personally, I'd like to see us go to some alternative fuel, and get the OPECers off of our backs. Those who bitch and moan about "war for oil" either fail to grasp the big picture, or they simply hate to see America as strong.
